Caleb Rogers is twenty-seven years old, building a career in the corporate world while making space for the stories that have quietly followed him his entire life. The truth is, he never imagined he would become a writer. Long before there were essays or memoirs, there was a pencil in his hand. He began drawing and painting at five years old, later competing nationally and selling more than twenty original works. In college, his curiosity carried him from canvas to camera, where he created five short films that reached more than one million viewers on YouTube and earned over thirty national and international awards. Only later did he recognize the thread connecting it all: he was never searching for the right medium. Whether with charcoal, a camera, or a page, he had always been searching for the same thing — a way to help people feel seen. Writing became the place where every part of that pursuit finally came together.

About Caleb

Today, Caleb's work has been published by Tiny Buddha, reaching millions of readers worldwide, and he is an accredited life coach with the Association for Coaching. Through both writing and coaching, he explores one of life's most enduring questions: Why are we the way we are? He believes people are not searching for perfect answers as much as they are searching for understanding, connection, and words for feelings they have carried silently. Through Notes from the In Between, he hopes to create a space where readers can reflect on their own lives, reconnect with themselves, and discover that becoming who we are is not a destination, but a lifelong journey.

I

I believe every person carries a story they have not fully understood yet. For years, I carried mine, the memories that shaped me, the questions that challenged me, and the experiences whose meaning only became clear with time. I began writing not because I wanted to become an author, but because I was searching for understanding. What started as private journal entries became a place to explore love, loss, identity, ambition, healing, and the quiet moments that shape who we become. Looking back, I realized that even the experiences I once wanted to leave behind were teaching me the most about myself. Our stories are not simply records of where we have been. They are the foundation of who we become.

This collection is also an exploration of who I am becoming as a writer and storyteller.

As you move through the stories, you may notice my writing begin to shift. I start with nonfiction, drawing from my memories and experiences, and gradually begin weaving fiction into those truths. Characters, imagined moments, and invented worlds begin to sit alongside real experiences. The boundary between what happened and what could have happened becomes softer. This was not an attempt to move away from myself. It was a way of moving beyond myself.

Fiction gave me room to explore emotional truths that did not always belong solely to my own story. It allowed me to take something personal and make it more universal. A memory could become a question. A question could become a character. A character could carry something I had once carried. And suddenly, the story was no longer only mine. You may notice that evolution as you read.

The writing begins with me, but slowly creates more room for you. Because ultimately, I do not want you to finish these stories thinking only about my life. I want you to recognize something in yourself. Maybe it is a memory you had forgotten. A relationship you are still trying to understand. A version of yourself you have outgrown. A question you have never known how to ask. Or simply the quiet realization that someone else's story can sometimes give language to something we have been carrying ourselves. Somewhere between memory and imagination, between my story and yours, I hope these pages become more than a collection of things I have lived.

I hope they become a place where you can find something you have lived, too.

THE
MEANINg
BEHIND
THE STORIES

Notes from the In Between is more than a collection of my past. It is an exploration of how understanding where we have been transforms how we live in the present. I believe our past is not something we are meant to escape, but something we are meant to understand. The experiences we carry shape our beliefs, our emotions, our relationships, and the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

When we look back with honesty and compassion, we begin to recognize the invisible stories we have carried: the ones we inherited, the ones we created, and the ones we accepted without question. Through that awareness comes the freedom to choose differently. These stories began with my own experiences, memories, questions, and moments of becoming. But as I continued writing, I realized I did not want the collection to remain entirely about me.

There is only so much meaning in asking someone else to understand your story. The deeper possibility is giving them space to recognize something of their own. That became the heart of this collection. I hope these stories invite you to look inward, not simply at the life I have lived, but at the parts of your own life that may still be asking to be understood.
